HCUCC Welcomes Interim Minister, Terry Moore-Painter

Dear Church Friends,

On behalf of the HCUCC Interim Search Team and the Church Council, it is with great pleasure that we announce the hiring of Reverend Terry Moore-Painter as our part-time Interim Minister. She will serve an initial six-month period, with the possibility of extension, based on our needs, as HCUCC searches for a permanent minister.

You can read her bio by clicking here. She has not only stellar credentials, but a heart and passion for social justice and creative worship along with so many other ideals our church holds dear.

She will collaborate with the Worship Committee in designing worship, and lead us in preaching, two Sundays a month, as well as additional pastoral duties in support of the HCUCC mission and its congregation. Her first Sunday in the pulpit is May 5, and she will join us in worship every first and third Sunday.

While we had anticipated hiring a full time Interim, we found it impossible to locate someone willing to take on the job in that capacity, since most seem to be looking exclusively for pulpit supply duties.

The other two Sundays a month will be arranged by our very skilled, creative Worship Team, and we will continue to host our Community Brunch on fifth Sundays.

Details of a reception after the May 5 service, to heartily welcome Terry and her husband, Sankey, into our midst, will be forthcoming. We so look forward to this celebration as we embark on another significant chapter in our ongoing journey at HCUCC.

God is still speaking.

Peace,

The Interim Search Team:
